We are actively seeking a Support Engineer, SAP ABAP. This is a remote position and can be based anywhere in Brazil.

Position Summary

The Support Engineer, SAP ABAP is responsible for providing exceptional remote support for mission-critical SAP applications as part of our global customer support team. This role involves researching, troubleshooting, and supporting multiple SAP modules for our global clients who use both 4.x and ECC environments. The position requires expertise in diagnosing complex issues and developing, testing, packaging, and delivering fixes in highly integrated and configured environments.

The role also demands functional experience, integration knowledge, and strong infrastructure and networking skills to understand complex tax and regulatory requirements, design solutions, create functional and technical specifications, test, and deliver updates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand client needs by coordinating with their representatives and clarifying details to provide optimal solutions.
• Collaborate with professionals from other departments, including experts in SAP modules such as SAP FI/CO, MM, SD, and others, to ensure a consistent user experience.
• Write ABAP code based on client blueprints and perform regular tests to ensure usability.
• Ensure all programs are completed on schedule in line with client guidelines and allocate appropriate resources.
• Provide technical support through troubleshooting guidelines and system modifications, including training end users and client representatives.
• Stay updated on technological advancements in SAP development through continuous self-training and research.

Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in ABAP and FIORI programming and SAP modules.
• 2+ years of experience with SAP systems such as FI/CO, MM, and SD.
• Prior experience in object-oriented programming, ABAP lists, and related fields.
• A track record of producing bug-free code for clients.
• Deep understanding of supporting business processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• SAP certification(s) preferred.
• Knowledge of maintenance/patching mechanics and SAP architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems across multiple modules.

• Strong technical troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Passion for customer support and building long-term client relationships.
• In-depth knowledge of key application functionality, tables, and relationships.
• Expertise in SAP customization and extension methodologies.
• Proficiency in using the SAP toolset for development.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Fluency in both English and Portuguese is required.
• Attention to detail and a quick learning ability.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Professionalism in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of multiple SAP modules across releases (4.x & ECC) and proficiency with SAP product suites, including configuration, integration, and underlying technologies.
• Knowledge of country-specific solutions is an advantage.
• A consulting background is beneficial.
• Experience with localizations and global implementations is a plus.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Language

• Fluency in both English and Portuguese is required.
