The Director, Credit Risk Analytics is responsible for underwriting credit strategies and oversight of credit quality and performance of the Personal Loan portfolios. They will review, analyze, and enhance the risk strategies through the use of Machine Learning models and credit data to manage the acquisition growth while delivering expected returns to the investors. They are responsible for the life cycle of credit management including compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls, and will recommend opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and reduce risk for the portfolio. The Director, Credit Risk works with cross-functional teams in Product, Engineering, Legal/Compliance, and Marketing to deliver the credit strategies as designed.
How you’ll make an impact
- Develop credit strategies to improve credit performance using data, ML/AI models, and advanced analytics tools.
- Turn findings and gaps into strategy enhancements and present recommendations with considerations of business impact and cost.
- Ensure credit losses remain within the company’s defined risk appetite.
- Bring innovative, out-of-the-box thinking to make recommendations and solve problems.
- Design and evaluate A/B tests with a strong understanding of risk–return trade-offs.
- Identify and evaluate new vendors and data sources and create business cases.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams to implement and monitor strategy performance.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis related to risk management, investor services, product, and operations.
- Analyze portfolio performance at a granular segment level, identifying key performance drivers and trends.
- Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure strategies and policies comply with regulatory requirements.
- Bring experience with credit loss forecasting and stress testing exercises.
Skills that will help you thrive
- Master’s degree or higher in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience managing acquisition credit risk in Credit Card or Personal Loan businesses, with strong business acumen and deep credit management knowledge. Experience in loss forecasting is a plus.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience with a proven ability to develop and mentor high-performing teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Outstanding thought leadership and the capability to build, refine, and elevate credit strategy frameworks through innovative approaches.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex analyses and technical subjects to varied audiences.
- Ability to confidently address questions on unfamiliar topics with clarity and conviction.
- A strong team player with a collaborative mindset and business-owner mentality.
- Proven ability to work productively in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote and in-person collaboration.

$215,000 - $260,000 a year
Compensation details: The salary for this position is $215k - $260k annually, plus bonus and generous benefits. In determining your salary, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
